The Musician Who Became a Numbers Guy (Out of Necessity)
I didn't start out wanting to be a bookkeeper—I started out as a musician and creative trying to figure out how to run a business without losing my mind.
When I launched Arden Creative in 2020, it was supposed to be the business that housed my music projects, consulting work, and freelance marketing. Then life had other plans: my fiancée needed a bookkeeper, and I realized I was drowning in my own financial chaos. The stress around my books and taxes was crushing, and I had a choice: become an expert or keep suffering.
So I became obsessed and created Witter Approach. It’s not about just doing basic accounting it’s about understanding the psychological systems around money.
Five years of doing my own books taught me something most bookkeepers never learn: the financial side of running a business isn't just about clean spreadsheets—it's about peace of mind, clarity, and freedom to focus on what you actually love doing. I'd been there, in the weeds at 11 PM trying to categorize expenses from three months ago, wondering if I was doing it all wrong.
That's why I do this work differently. I'm not just a numbers person (though I'm both Bookkeeping Certified and QuickBooks ProAdvisor Level 1 Certified). I'm a creative who understands what it's like to run a business where your passion and your paycheck have to coexist. I get it because I've lived it.

When I'm not in the books, you'll find me outdoors (hunting, fishing, or DIYing projects around my house), being the best cat dad and plant dad I can be, playing drums and percussion almost daily, or dreaming about combining drumming and DJing. I believe in building a life—not just a business—which is probably why I connect so well with entrepreneurs who are trying to do the same.
